Role: Senior Cosmos Database Administrator (Must have 10 years experience) Duration: Long term contract Location: Remote Rate: $48 on C2C Role Summary Database Design and Development: Design, develop, and implement Cosmos DB solutions to meet business requirements. Optimize database performance and ensure efficient data storage and retrieval. Data Modeling: Define and implement data models based on application requirements. Work with development teams to ensure effective integration of Cosmos DB within applications. Query Optimization: Write and optimize complex queries to extract, analyze, and manipulate data efficiently. Monitor and troubleshoot query performance issues. Database Administration: Administer and maintain Cosmos DB instances, including monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery procedures. Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations. Scaling and Partitioning: Implement and manage partitioning strategies for scalable and distributed data storage. Evaluate and implement strategies for scaling Cosmos DB based on application growth. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Set up and maintain monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve database issues. Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks and connectivity problems. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and business analysts. Provide technical guidance and support to team members. Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience: Proven experience in designing, developing, and administering databases, with a focus on Cosmos DB. Strong understanding of NoSQL database concepts and distributed database systems. Technical Skills: Proficiency in querying and manipulating data using Cosmos DB SQL API. Hands-on experience with Azure services, particularly Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Functions, and Azure Storage. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
