The Data Analyst will support the New York State Database Application Vital Events (DAVE) project and support the birth data and fetal death data migration efforts. The successful candidate requires: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in data migration from large complex legacy systems (Oracle and VSAM data sources). Government project experience involving data migration tasks. Expertise with the extraction of data from legacy data sources (in this case Oracle and VSAM) Experience loading extracted data into a staging database and cleaning up any data issues. Experience loading data into the VitalChek application. VitalChek (https://www.vitalchek.com/v/) is an application that the NYS DOH has acquired that manages birth and death certificates in NY. Implement best practices and methodologies in Data Analysis, Design and Modeling, Enterprise-wide CM and SCCM implementation using various tools like Salesforce, Service Now, and SharePoint. Expert in Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) using both scripts and tools like MSBI SSIS, Informatica PowerCenter, Talend and DataStage. Experienced at DataVault 2.0 data models for constant increase in input feeds and agile methodology. Adept at both homogenous as well as heterogeneous Data migration (Sybase Replication Server), BI and Reporting, BI and Analytics tools like Cognos, SSRS, Business Objects (BO) and OBIEE. Complete SDLC experience using Iterative development processes such as RUP, Agile and Waterfall models, Object Oriented development techniques and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Handled data migration and Sql query performance issues while migrating from Sybase to Sql Server by optimization of ETL jobs, Stored procedures and SQL queries. Expert in file format understanding and conversions from one to other. Architect for large initiatives like firm wide EDW.
