Job Description

TITLE:Senior Data Engineer

LOCATION:300 N. Lake Pasadena California 91101 United States/Hybrid

Visa:only UsC/GC

Duration:12+months

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The candidate should demonstrate the following:

Experience creating/optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, partitioning data, indexing, and reading execution plans.
Expert at understanding and implementing ETL architecture, data profiling, process flow, metric logging, and error handling.
Mentor junior data engineers through optimization training and code reviews.
Ability to engage effectively with data analysts, DBAs, and line of business stakeholders.
Specific knowledge and experience with Microsoft Azure Data Lake Gen2, Parquet, and Apache Spark.
Experience with SQL Server, DB2, XML, and JSON data sources.

Responsibilities:

The preferred candidate will work closely with our DBAs, Analysts, and Business leaders to understand their requirements for reporting, data visualization, and data analysis. Activities include meeting with stakeholders to develop requirements; designing, building, and optimizing various Synapse artifacts, such as SQL Scripts, Pipelines, Triggers, Link Services, Spark jobs, and SQL Pools; and developing procedures for moving those artifacts between development, testing, and production environments.

Must have:

Senior Data Engineer with experience using Azure Synapse for Data Warehousing.
