Out-of-state candidates will not be considered. Level Description 4-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Job Description Designs and builds relational databases. Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database. Cleans and maintains the database by removing and deleting old data. Must be able to design, develop and manipulate database management systems, data warehouses and multidimensional databases. Requires a depth and breadth of database knowledge that shall help with formal design of relational databases and provides insight into strategic data manipulation. Responsible for making sure an organization& strategic goals are optimized through the use of enterprise data standards. This frequently involves creating and maintaining a centralized registry of metadata. Has working knowledge of EIR Accessibility standards and assistive technologies. Ensures that all user interfaces for database administration and inputting, viewing, and outputting data(via reports) are compliant with accessibility standards. Additional job details and special considerations The Information Technology (IT) Applications, Medicaid/CHIP Systems (IT-MCS) team has initiated the MCS SAVERR to TOA Remediation PPS & TMTS project. This project will remediate the SAVERR code in the Premiums Payable System (PPS) and Texas Medical Transportation System (TMTS) by replacing the SAVERR code with the TOA code and business logic. Requires knowledge and experience in Oracle database design, development, performance optimization, reporting, testing, defect root cause analysis, troubleshooting, Agile development methodology, and systems architecture documentation utilizing Oracle version 11x and/or 12x. Available for on-call support as needed. Other duties as assigned and required by the unit operations.
