Hourly salary should not exceed $70 per hour. OPUC has forward facing, informational only website that is hosted by Nestify and runs off of WordPress. OPUC is requesting assistance with the following tasks on an as-needed basis to be completed no later than June 30, 2024. Selected vendor will work closely with OPUC staff on updating website and training OPUC staff. Overall design Needs to be more mobile-friendly. Too white space and could be resolved with other changes below. Less white space overall (ex. In our banner on the home page, theres probably four inches of white space above the photo; theres a lot on either side of most pages text) Search bar is oddly positioned and square, not really aesthetic. Banners/graphics are stretched or cut off, textboxes are offset and oddly sized so its harder to read off of. Twitter at the bottom means most people arent reading it. Twitter feed is broken. Broken Links need to find solutions. Lots of scrolling required. Fonts are antiquated. About Page Do we want to add an About the Office with history, or performance measures Good background and brag page. Resources Pages Too much text without design, no links to external resources Consumer Rights link/box on the right goes straight to PUC. Regulatory Agencies we dont link to anything. No pictures or graphics makes this easy to lose attention span. Why is PUC Storms a link under Resources without first having our own content Reports page Generally, just needs updated at pace with retention schedule Not that there are many design options, but I think theres just an overwhelming amount of white on this page. Assistance page If I click the tab, and not subtabs, I get the same info thats in each of the subtabs on one page. See below recommendations on organization. Jobs page Could we use a drop-down menu to look at each posting, rather than massive scrolling Bottom links: Site Policies & Accessibility links are broken If I go to Compact with Texans it looks like I can access the same newsletters ( https://opuc.texas.gov/index.php/opuc-responds-to-concerns-over-high-electricity-bills/) Suggested changes (possibly) Home Page About Chief Executive & Public Counsel Office of Public Utility Counsel Reports Separate pages for Electric, Water/Wastewater, and Telecom Provide within each a section: OPUCs involvement Complaints information (in lieu of tab) Assistance (in lieu of resources tabs) Jobs Contact Us OPUC would like to have selected vendor train OPUC staff to handle most aspects of its website. Upon initial completion of updating website, OPUC is interested in retaining vendor to assist with future problems on an as-needed basis.
