Summary: This position requires an experienced and highly skilled Mobile Application Architect to play a crucial role on our team. Youll be working on the evaluation and speed optimization of mobile apps for one or more of our large US based e-commerce retail clients. Responsibilities: Provide technical architectural consulting for performance and scalability of existing mobile apps for iOS and Android platforms to meet business, technical and performance goals. Evaluate and redesign an existing mobile app performance program to meet business objectives by creating process, providing technical leadership, and defining performance goals for the program. Engage and collaborate with business and program leaders to socialize and include performance and qualitative testing in the software development lifecycle. Perform technology evaluations of existing apps against industry trends and advancements and present the business case for performance optimization. Design and evaluate client scorecards. Use them to gauge client maturity in mobile app performance management and performance optimizations, identify core strengths and weaknesses and plan project roadmaps. Work with key members of clients staff to evaluate and optimize key experiences for various user journeys, as well as evaluate and optimize integrations to both 1st party APIs and 3rd party services. Identify and define non-functional requirements, determine the toolset and the methodology for measuring performance, set targets and define thresholds. Formulate, design, deploy and execute optimization methodologies and testing strategies for development engineers, QA and SDET engineers. Provide detailed analysis and recommendations for optimizations around caching strategies, incorporating use of CDN features, API efficiencies, stability, and resiliency testing. Profile application code with development engineers to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks for both Native and Hybrid apps. Design custom reports and dashboards for specific target audiences. Automate performance testing processes and send data to collection repositories for reporting. Create comprehensive documentation of testing and monitoring strategies, methodologies and results. Required Skills: 5+ years of experience in Swift and Objective-C for Apple iPhone app development. 5+ years of experience in Java and Kotlin for Android App Development. 5+ years of experience with Frameworks like React Native, Ionic, Flutter and NativeScript. 5 years of experience with various types of APIs like REST, GraphQL, SOAP, Websockets. 5 years of experience with mobile app tooling such as emulators, Xcode instrumentation, Android Profiler, and other profilers for memory, CPU, network, and energy consumption. Experience using HTTP debug tools such as Fiddler or Charles Proxy. Hands on experience of evaluating performance logs, traces, and signals to provide a holistic view of app performance and identify potential bottlenecks. Experience in enterprise online e-commerce retail. Experience developing and optimizing the performance of hybrid apps and web views. Experience with synthetic and RUM tools for measuring performance. Familiarity with Google Core Web Vitals and how they relate to mobile app performance.
