Please reach me at [email protected] Title SQL DBA Location Ventura, CA (Onsite) Local only Duration 12+ Months of Contract Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) with experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud services to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our SQL Server databases and ensuring their performance, availability, and security in an Azure cloud environment. Key Responsibilities: Database Administration: Manage and maintain SQL Server databases in Azure Cloud, including installation, configuration, monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Azure Cloud Integration: Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases in Azure, leveraging Azure SQL Database, Azure Virtual Machines, and other Azure services. Performance Optimization: Identify and address database performance issues, optimize SQL queries, and implement best practices for performance tuning in Azure Cloud environments. Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and compliance with industry standards and regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA. Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain database backup and recovery strategies in Azure, ensuring data integrity and availability in case of failures or disasters. Automation and Scripting: Utilize PowerShell, ARM templates, and other automation tools to streamline database deployment, configuration, and maintenance tasks in Azure. Monitoring and Reporting: Implement database monitoring solutions in Azure to proactively identify and resolve issues, and create regular reports on database performance and availability. Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to support database-related initiatives, and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for database systems and processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Proven experience as a SQL Server DBA, with a strong understanding of database management and optimization principles. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, particularly in deploying and managing SQL Server databases in Azure. Proficiency in T-SQL scripting, PowerShell scripting, and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates. Familiarity with database security best practices and compliance requirements. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus.
