Our tech moves beyond screens and pixels, creating a new reality aimed at bringing us closer together - whether that's scientists meeting on the surface of a virtual Mars or some yet undreamt-of possibility. To get there, we're incorporating groundbreaking technologies, from the revolutionary Holographic Processing Unit to computer vision, machine learning, human-computer interaction, and more. The Calibration team's charter is to provide accurate mathematical characterizations of sensors and displays to enable simultaneous localization and mapping, scene understanding, and presentation of holograms. We are a mix of computer vision experts and engineering aficionados that pioneer calibration techniques. We are looking for a software engineer who is comfortable with Python and fundamental concepts of computer vision/image processing, to help us create next-gen calibration solutions for upcoming products. Responsibilities: Facilitate calibration of mixed reality devices in a lab environment. Execute calibration workflows, collect and process calibration data, analyze calibration data and assess the accuracy of calibration solutions. Prototype calibration workflows using Python, integrate calibration tools into calibration workflows, triage errors and collaborate with partner teams on mitigation. Required Qualifications: BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent industry experience. 3+ years of technical engineering experience with programming, testing, scripting/automation in Python. Basic understanding of fundamental concepts of computer vision, multiple-view geometry, and image processing, e.g., pinhole cameras, transformations of space, operations on images and image filtering, feature detection, through either professional exposure or self-learning. Academic or professional experience with applications of computer vision, image processing, or related disciplines. Prior experience developing and shipping software in C++.
