Estimated start date is 4/29 Job Description: The Data Migration Engineer will work closely with multiple stakeholders and the Nasuni Data Migration Project team to deliver migration services from identified CLIENT legacy data sources to the new Nasuni Cloud File Services Platform. The Data Migration Engineer will coordinate all data migration activities for a site and will create and operate the migration tools as necessary to complete the migration. The responsibilities are as follows: 85% of the position: Analyze the environment in which migration will occur Escalate any potential issues that are discovered Maintain data security, integrity, and availability Utilize software tools to migrate data Capture metrics of migration task status Create, read and maintain batch files and scripts as needed Analyzing log files for errors and accuracy, a true testament to results and being able to measure success and accuracy. Knowledge of AEC Data Organization and applications Pros and Cons of data mergers and organization in an AEC environment. 15% of the position: Attend project meetings Provide concise status updates of areas of responsibility Maintain knowledge of the status of the project Qualifications: Minimum Associates Degree (2 yr.) 6+ years professional experience Must be a self-starter and have excellent attention to detail which includes both written and verbal communication. Comprehensive knowledge of basic Power commands, RoboCopy command-line switches, and SetACL, with a high understanding of the results Must be able to create and edit Windows batch files and Power scripts for automation Understand and utilize data migration utilities (Robocopy, Rsync, DataDobi etc.) Able to communicate to a broad audience (Technical, Management, BRMs etc.) Strong knowledge in Active Directory NTFS when performing migrations and best practices. Inheritance, Shares, est. Ability to merge data sets with similar names into a single source General knowledge of diverse infrastructure, Server, Storage, Active Directory, Networking Ability to assess migration over WAN and customize scripts accordingly.
