Job Description:

Overview:

The Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, configuration,
implementation, testing and transition to steady state

support of Infrastructure such as; network, telecommunication, server, storage
or software across the enterprise. They will partner with

peer engineering teams on best practices, process, standards, and configuration
management. The Engineer evaluates vendor

supplied hardware, components and software packages for fit and performance and
makes recommendations to IT management. This

individual modifies and/or debugs vendor-supplied utilities and packages. The
Engineer maintains technical documentation for

telecommunications, network, server, storage and system software applications.
The Engineer diagnoses isolates and debugs hardware and software problems and
performs problem resolution. The role is responsible for delivering solutions
that are stable,

secure, scalable and cost effective, as well providing escalation support to
the administrators.

Duties and Responsibilities:

General:

Participate in on call rotation

Coaches others

Research, evaluate and recommend network-related software and hardware
products and services

Perform capacity and resource planning for network systems

Assess network risks and perform contingency planning

Provide input to supplier management team to help establish the
telecommunications and network-related vendor service

agreements

Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications and network systems
(hardware and software)

Troubleshoot and resolve technical communications and network issues (tier
two support)

Provide input to supplier management team to help manage telecommunications
and network-related vendor service level

agreements

Stay up-to-date on telecommunications, networks and network-related
technologies

Serve as a technical resource for infrastructure initiatives that require
telecommunications or network expertise

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors or Technical degree in related field or equivalent experience

7+ years of work experience in an Infrastructure or technical function

Excellent verbal / written communication skills, strong attention to detail

Ability to create, read, analyze, and interpret technical diagrams and

Experience in telecommunications and networking environments, security,
storage, server and other

infrastructure technologies that match SGWSs infrastructure landscape

optimization of technologies within SGWSs landscape

Must possess good problem-solving skills

Understanding of hardware and software dependencies

Coach, mentor and develop others

The ability to translate business requirements to technical requirements

Good verbal/written communication skills

Strong attention to detail

Strong team player who can work across multiple functional areas and
disciplines

Capability to understand SGWS application portfolio as well as how the
different systems contribute to daily business

operations

Familiarity with ITIL concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in Infrastructure engineering role as it relates to
the hardware and software components that align to

technologies supported at Southern Glazers

Provide accurate and timely updates to work tickets, incidents, and outages

ITIL Foundation certified

Network Architecture and Engineering, Network Security, Multi-Market Network
Implementations, Team Leadership, Budget

Management, Backbone Network Migrations, Network Policy Controls and
Enforcement, Cisco Routing and Switching, Data

Center Build Outs, KOP and SLA Definition and Measurement, Backhaul and
Transmission, VPN Gateways, MPLS, VPN

Gateways, BGP, EIGRP and COS/QOS

Assists the Manager of Network Engineering with the requirements for budget,
contracts and support

Experience in Microsoft office tools

Physical Demands:

Travel up to 50%

Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time
include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a

computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine

Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare
amount of time include walking, bending, reaching,

standing, and stooping

May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to
20lbs
