Position Description: DIGIT is seeking a Windows Engineer to support the upgrade of Windows servers to Windows 2022 within the GSA environment. This includes: Analyzing the new features available with Windows 2022. What is required to integrate the new version into operations. Performing both upgrades and migrations to Windows 2022. The Engineer will support: Operating system installation Configuration Patching Image creation Agent installation Vulnerability remediation System hardening All in accordance with Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) security requirements just to name a few . Education and Experience: MINIMUM 4 years of experience. Bachelors degree REQUIRED. Experience working remote demonstrating time management & self-discipline w/ cultural change management & Agile mindset. Responsibilities : This position shall perform the following (to include but not limited to) activities: Upgrading Windows servers to Windows 2022. Providing analysis and solutions for upgrading to Windows 2022. Developing new technologies to support and or improve existing upgrade process by adding automation using existing and\\or new technologies. Collaborating with other members of the engineering team to design new features or improve existing ones. Escalate issues to vendor and third-party entities, as necessary and directed by the Government. Resolve/mitigate vulnerabilities related to the operating system as identified on security scan reports. Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot security agents deployed in the environment to ensure systems are secured and log collection is centralized and meet all security requirements. Required Skills: Previous experience upgrading to Windows 2022 in an Enterprise environment. Minimum of 3 years as Windows engineer. Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable. Perform systems management and integration functions. Proven ability to work independently in a full and/or partial remote environment with limited supervision and may supervise/lead others. Possess the ability to communicate in both oral and written forms, demonstrating an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff as well as clients. Must be able to work a variety of shifts. This role includes working a lot off-shift hours and weekends during upgrades. Preferred Skills: ITILv4 Foundation certified. Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Azure Administrator Associate Experience with Scripting in Power and using BigFix to create BigFix Actions Scripts. Experience with HCL BigFix, VMware, SolarWinds, Active Directory Proficiency in Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Chat, Meet, Docs, Slides, Sheets), Slack, and ServiceNow.
