RTR in the favor of GVR Infotek Sr. Python Developer Location: Hartford, CT (100%- ONSITE) Duration: 6+ months Need Local candidates within 45-50 minutes of driving distance with address proof Must Have: (Need at least 12+ to 15 years of candidate profile) Pandas and Numpy is very critical, 50% - 60% of the client work is using these two tech. and good with SQL Server. Experience working in asset management, hedge fund, broker/dealer, investment company, or a similar financial company is required Several years experience in a heavily Python/Pandas/SQL environment building data solutions. Need strong SQL experience Experience with Azure DevOps (CI/CD) is important. Required Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented, concise, transparent. Support, maintain, enhance, and develop software that meets and exceeds the needs of the company, focusing on testability, reliability, scalability, and maintainability. Provide support during business hours and after hours/on-call as needed. Collaborate with team and senior IT management to drive projects to completion. Perform development duties using the following requirements: Work in an Agile environment in Azure DevOps (Pipelines, GitHub, Boards, Wiki, Test Plans, etc.). Microsoft SQL Server Python Deep experience with Pythonic idioms. Experience with VS Code and Jupyter notebooks as IDEs Experience with packages: Pandas, Numpy, SqlAlchemy, Openpyxl, and Pydantic among others is required. Able to assess functional programming vs. object-oriented paradigms as best fit for a solution. Experience building APIs with FastAPI and/or Flask. Agility with transforming data to and from formats such as Excel, CSV, JSON, XML, Parquet, SQL, and YAML Virtual environments, notebooks, structuring code in packages and modules, unit testing are all essential to the role as well. Tidal as an enterprise scheduler, but UC4, Autosys, ActiveBatch, etc., will suffice. Experience with at least one market data provider, such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Refinitiv, MarkIT, etc. Prefer 5 days in-office in Hartford, CT. Desired Experience A background in VB.NET to the extent of being able to read code is strongly desired. Experience with the following is preferred, but not mandatory: Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Automate, etc.). GUI development experience with Django, Flask, and/or Tkinter a plus. Cloud and NoSQL database experience also a plus. Bachelors degree in computer science, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
