Coordinates, and implements network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware. Tests hardware, networking software and operating system software in preparation of new installation or upgrade. Works with vendors to resolve problems. Working knowledge of network applications, switches and servers. Experience in network cabling systems and fiber optic cabling. Perform inventory management tasks and verify equipment database accuracy for all network equipment and required processes for asset tags on equipment; responsible for decommissioning and sanitization of legacy equipment along with accounting/tracking equipment in preparation for surplus process.
