Does the Senior Specialist - System Management opportunity described below look like a potential match If so, when would be a good time to connect Database Developer with PostgreSQL Database Administration and data Migration Remote Position 6+ Months Contract Key Responsibilities: Experience in PostgreSQL Database Administration is a must. Additional experience in OpenSource DB Technologies like MySQL or MongoDB is preferred. Proficiency in Database Migrations & Upgrades, including Cross-Platform Heterogeneous Database Migrations. Strong knowledge in Installing, configuring, and Managing Databases, as well as HA (High Availability) and DR (Disaster Recovery). Expertise in Installing and administering databases on Unix & Windows Platforms. Optimization of system/database operations and resource utilization, along with system capacity analysis and planning. Database performance tuning at system and application levels, for development and production databases. Design and management of database security, roles, and profiles. Implementation of disaster recovery plans. Support for all non-production databases including installation, upgrade, backup, recovery, database refresh, and multi-language support. Providing support and direction to developers with troubleshooting and performance tuning as needed. Following change management processes and participating in related meetings. Creation and maintenance of database architecture and standards following Oracle Best practices for physical structures, logical databases, and user management. Integration/collaboration with application development and support teams on various IT projects. Adherence to existing processes for SOX/PCI databases. Flexibility to work in a 24 * 7 Project/Support environment. Valuable Skills: Excellent leadership communication and executive presence. Strong influencing, program, and change management skills. Strong business acumen and customer focus. Ability to convey specific, observable, and/or measurable expectations for each assignment, and verify understanding and agreement on deliverables and timeframes. Consistent ability to make timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness. Analytical experience with spreadsheet analysis, public presentations, and data management, and the ability to be a change agent and promote positive change in the organization. Ability to translate business issues/requirements and objectives into technical solutions. Strong knowledge of IT business processes and practices, including ITIL methodology.
