We are seeking a Software Developer Engineer in Test to join our Software Development team in Greenwood Village, Colorado. We are looking for a candidate to assist in development of an automated testing platform that test the firmware of our customer present networking equipment. This equipment includes Cable Modems, Routers, Wireless Access Points, and Ethernet Bridges. The framework has already been set up. They are looking to convert all of this to automation. They are looking for a python developer, not a python tester. As one of a small number of SDET in the Embedded Software Engineering team, you will be asked to support and give feedback in the design and architecture of our testing platforms and the greater CICD pipeline. You may also be asked to participate in feature architecture discussion so that you can plan test for features prior to delivery. The role will require the engineer to quickly learn new platforms, frameworks, and libraries. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Develops software to automate the validation of configurable network hardware. - Designs testing configurations and communicates requirements for test environments. - Works as part of a team to deliver quality test automation software. - Trouble shoots failures in test helping to understand the root cause analysis. - Participates in code reviews both as a submitter and a reviewer. - Supports the evolution of a CI/CD pipeline for the embedded software. - Effectively manage task lifecycles using Jira while communicating - Ability to capture and decipher network traffic. - Experience writing tests for firmware running on off site physical hardware. - Knowledge of containerization concepts such as docker. - Experience with CI/CD Pipelines specifically Gitlab-CI. - Experience with DevOps Tools such as AWS or Ansible. Generic JD in Fieldglass: Must have specialized skill listed under specializations tab. Follows company software development lifecycle to design, code, configure, test, debug, and document system and application programs. Assists in preparing technical design specifications based on functional requirements and analysis documents. Reviews functional requirements, analysis and design documents and provides feedback. Collaborates with other development staff to achieve quality and consistency. Participates in architecture, design and code reviews. Develops and maintains operational and system level documentation. 5 + years of experience.
