Position Overview: We are currently in search of an adept Tier 3 Checkpoint Engineer to join our esteemed Network and Security Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise and hands-on proficiency in overseeing Checkpoint firewall clusters, with fluency in R80 and above. This role holds paramount importance in safeguarding the integrity, security, and efficacy of our clients network infrastructure. Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and administer Checkpoint firewall solutions with a focus on high availability, redundancy, and scalability. Offer Tier 3 support for intricate issues pertaining to Checkpoint firewall clusters, including the identification, troubleshooting, and resolution of incidents. Execute routine system upgrades, patches, and maintenance on firewall devices, ensuring minimal disruption to operational workflows. Develop and enforce security policies, rules, and configurations in accordance with industry best practices and organizational mandates. Conduct thorough performance analysis, capacity planning, and optimization exercises to maintain peak system performance and security. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and execute comprehensive security solutions aligned with organizational objectives. Document system configurations, standard operating procedures, and best practices for managing Checkpoint firewall environments. Stay abreast of emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies to continually fortify the security posture of the organization. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in network security, with at least 3 years dedicated to managing Checkpoint firewall environments. Proficiency in Checkpoint R80 and above, coupled with a robust understanding of firewall cluster management. Expertise in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), security protocols (IPSec, SSL VPN), and firewall technologies. Strong analytical prowess and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network security issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling effective collaboration within a team environment and conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications such as CCSE (Checkpoint Certified Security Expert) or CCSM (Checkpoint Certified Security Master). Experience leveraging scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible) for streamlined management of security devices. Familiarity with other security technologies (IDS/IPS, SIEM, Endpoint Security) and cloud security principles. Demonstrated success in implementing and managing security solutions within large, intricate environments.
