Job Description:

Summary:

o           Leadership of technology-focused projects and teams relying on Agile values and principles. This position assumes the role of Kanban Lead along with SAFe 5 or 6 implementation experience. The focus of this position is on delivering value over meeting constraints, leading the team over managing tasks, and adapting to change over conforming to plans. In the Kanban Lead role, he / she facilitates the Kanban process with team and stakeholders and proactively removes impediments to progress.

           Creating and Managing Kanban Systems

           Kanban Board Design: The Lead is responsible for the Kanban Board, which is a visual representation of the business process. Pillars are defined and charts are formed that reflect the flow of work elements.

           Establishing WIP limits: Work-in-progress (WIP) limits are essential to smooth operations. The Lead sets these limits and adjusts improve efficiency and prevent team overload.

           Monitor the Flow and Identify Potential Damage

           Flow control: The Lead continuously monitors the flow of work items on the Kanban board. He will ensure that the workflows from stage to stage, and that any delays or obstructions are identified.

           Bottleneck Detection: Identifying bottlenecks is an important responsibility. Kanban Lead will use the data and metrics to identify areas where work accumulates, and then facilitate solutions to eliminate bottlenecks.

           Facilitating Continuous Improvement

           Kaizen Culture: Kanban embraces a culture of continuous improvement (Kaizen). The Lead will encourage this culture by encouraging team members to identify areas for improvement, test process changes and implement improvements.

           Feedback loop: The Lead facilitates regular retrospectives in which the team reflects on their work and discusses what went well and what could be improved. He will ensure action items have been tracked from previous records.

           Training and Mentoring

           Team Training: The Lead provides training and guidance to team members on Kanban principles, practices, and tools. They help team members understand the process and how to use the Kanban system effectively.

           Newcomer mentoring: When new team members join, the Lead plays a key role in onboarding, ensuring newcomers understand business processes and their roles.

           Resolving Conflicts and Blockages

           Conflict Resolution: The Lead acts as a mediator if conflicts or disagreements arise with stakeholders inside or outside the team. They facilitate discussion and help find solutions while keeping the project moving.

           Block Management: When team members encounter obstacles or setbacks, the Lead helps them solve them quickly. This may require collaboration with other groups or stakeholders.

           Keep it in Line with Business Objectives

           Alignment of Purpose: The Lead ensures that teamwork is aligned with the strategic goals of the organization. They communicate business objectives and help prioritize work accordingly.

           Stakeholder Communication: The Lead communicates with stakeholders to gather information, clarify needs, and manage expectations to ensure the team delivers value.

      Education/Experience:

obachelors degree in a technology field or related degree. Minimum 4+ years of project management experience and 1 year experience with Agile software development methodologies, namely Scrum and/or Kanban, SAFe 5 or 6. Additional years of directly related relevant experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.

      Qualifications:

o           Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

o           Detail-oriented and highly organized.

o           Strong presentation and communication skills

o           Self-motivated driver able to make progress despite obstacles.

o           Strong servant leader able to lead and work with multiple diverse roles and personalities.

o           One or more related certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) preferred.
