A minimum of five (5) years of experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with technical and Department staff. Proficient in the English language. Experience managing DB2 databases in production and lower environments using COBOL, REXX, CLIST, JCL, SQL, BMC tools, and TMON. Experience in the standardizing and designing of physical data storage, database maintenance, access and security administration. Experience in evaluating customer's requests for new data elements and systems, and incorporating them into the existing shared data environment, and maintaining the data dictionary containing all metadata for the enterprise. Experience in optimizing database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost.
