Minimum of 5 years experience working with a cloud provider (AWS or Azure). Exposure to large-scale ML systems design and deployment. AI/ML relevant AWS Professional Certification preferred.Required Skills: Proven track record of implementing machine learning solutions, AI services, and statistical analysis projects in production. Deep understanding of GenAI models (e.g., GPT, LLAMA 3+). Technical leadership with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Familiarity with cloud AI/ML platform offerings and features. Applied knowledge of AI services for speech, vision, and text. Background in machine learning algorithms. Expertise in MLOps and DataOps lifecycles and engineering implementation in an enterprise setting. Proficiency in Python (AI/ML specific packages and libraries); knowledge of Spark or R is optional.Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Overview: As an Applied AI/ML Architect, you will lead architectural decisions for the Cloud, Data, and Infrastructure Architecture Portfolio. You should have a deep understanding of technical architecture and have implemented AI/ML solutions in a cloud environment. Knowledge of industry best practices around enterprise AI/ML adoption, security, architectures, and patterns is essential. Experience with Data Architecture principles (such as data mesh, knowledge graph, and data ontology) is a plus. Technical experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is also beneficial. Strong interpersonal communication skills are required. Responsibilities: Act as a trusted advisor to business teams, understanding their requirements for cloud implementations. Provide recommendations for AI/ML implementations and prepare technical implementation roadmaps for adoption. Create application architecture, data architecture, deployment architectures, functional design specifications, and assist with other project deliverables as needed. Design state-of-the-art AI/ML solutions that meet customers requirements for functionality, scalability, reliability, security, and performance. Collaborate with other project teams and departments such as Information Security, Compliance, and Controls on architectural solutions. ================================================================================================================================================================ Overview The Enterprise Architecture group specializes in data and has recently completed a cloud data migration. They are now optimizing through model transformation, focusing on ML/AI and machine learning architecture. This includes migrating existing applications to new cloud capabilities and addressing new challenges. The role involves determining if a problem is applicable to the new architecture and how it can be applied or if it is not applicable at all. Gen AI is becoming increasingly significant, and organizations are adopting and leveraging it for core business capabilities. The team is cautiously exploring safe adoption methods, including governance frameworks and data organization to benefit from Gen AI capabilities. The role requires someone who has implemented these capabilities at an enterprise level, preferably in financial institutions. The candidate should have demonstrated leadership in architecture implementation and collaboration with other teams. The plan is to retain this person through the end of the year to augment the team. Questions 1. Could you talk a little bit more about the day-to-day and what this resource will be doing On a day-to-day basis, the resource will interact with business partners, attend meetings, and bring business problems to the platform. They will provide architecture solutions and assist in implementation when needed. The resource will need to document solutions and present them to the architecture review board for approval. This involves understanding deployment processes, reading through documents, and collaborating with specialists to create sound architectures that can be approved and implemented. 2. Is the future state already in place, or is it still being developed The future state is not yet fully developed. The resource will be presented with architectural challenges rather than complete architectures. There is a directional sense of the future state, but each capability needs to be aligned with the existing framework. This includes evaluating Gen AI capabilities and figuring out governance and approval processes. 3. How important is the SageMaker piece on the AWS PJ's SageMaker is important but not the only tool used. The team also uses other platforms like Bedrock and Domino. The resource should be flexible in using different tools as required. 4. Would you expect this person to be proficient in NLP and Python While knowledge of NLP and Python is beneficial, the resource does not need to be a subject matter expert in NLP. The focus is on having enough knowledge to evaluate and implement solutions effectively. 5. How do architecture, data relation, and AI/ML expertise come together in this role The resource needs to understand how to use existing data, interact with the data mesh, and curate data for model training. They should be able to solve business challenges using appropriate tools and strategies, such as TensorFlow or scikit-learn. Expertise in these areas, along with the ability to influence and collaborate with business and technical partners, is crucial. 6. What is the preferable background for this role The ideal candidate should have experience with cloud-based capabilities, data semantics, data preparation, and development knowledge. Experience with SageMaker, Azure Cloud, or similar platforms is preferred. 7. Is the role focused more on architecture or implementation The role involves both architecture and implementation. The resource will provide architecture solutions, get them approved, and help implement them as needed. 8. How many days is this person expected to be on-site The resource is expected to be on-site on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 9. Is Gen AI experience mandatory Gen AI experience is not mandatory. Experience with traditional AI/ML is sufficient to get started. 10. What architectural tools are you using The team uses Confluent and Draw.io, which complement each other.
