Job Details: Job Title : Senior Data Analyst/ Lead Report Writer : Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (Aging and Long-Term Support Administration) Duration : 11 Months Location: Lacey, WA (Remote) Required Skills and Experience: Deliverable #1 Contractor will work with ALTSA Data Services staff to architect and implement cloud technologies, such as designing and setting up a Power BI environment for the organization. Contractor will need to be familiar with Azure data-related constructs and tools. Contractor will need to be proficient in middle-tier scripting languages, such as Power and Python. Work includes: Analyze current system. Assess need. Work with Data Services team to understand purpose and processes. Gather requirements. Work with Data Services team and business stakeholders to architect solution. Solutions will be developed using an agreed upon, maintainable framework. Work with Data Services team and business stakeholders to test solution. Deliverable #2 Contractor will work with ALTSA Data Services staff to architect and implement an on-prem data infrastructure and reporting solution for One Washingtons new FDM data model. The solution will consist of staging tables, star schemas, and cubes feeding canned and self-service reports, which currently source data from the AFRS data model along with other conformed areas of ALTSA/DDA business. Contractor will need to be proficient in on-prem data constructs and tools, such as Transact SQL, SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS. Work includes: Analyze current systems. Assess need. Work with Data Services team to understand purpose and processes. Gather requirements. Work with Data Services team and business stakeholders to architect solution. Solutions will be developed using an agreed upon, maintainable framework. Work with Data Services team and business stakeholders to test solution. Provide knowledge transfer as needed. Deliverable #3 - Address team technical debt within Data Services canned and self-service reporting infrastructure. Examples include rearchitecting/speeding up slow reporting systems, refactoring SSAS solutions, rearchitecting/refactoring slow data loading systems, etc. Work includes: Analyze current system, assess need, and gather requirements. Design solution. Review designed solution with Data Services staff. Implement Test solution. Document processes. Provide knowledge transfer as needed. Deliverable #4 Create/refactor Power BI, and SSRS reports. Work includes: Analyze current state and gather requirements. Design solution. Create/refactor Power BI or SSRS report as assigned. Test to ensure correctness of solution. Document processes. Provide knowledge transfer as needed. Deliverable #5 Create/refactor ETL processes. Work includes: Analyze current state and gather requirements. Design solution Create/refactor SSIS package as assigned. Test to ensure correctness of solution. Document processes. Provide knowledge transfer as needed.
