This position will participate in building the Network Services team, facilitate between large projects with the Network Services Team and the Managed Network Services Vendor, assist with developing policies and procedures, perform systems analysis, and participate in roadmap development. Reports to the Network Section Director. Worker will perform these tasks: Responsible for developing and executing short and long-term strategic plans to ensure network capacity, reliability, scalability, and security needs are met now and into the future. Leads a team of Information Technology professionals; Leads the creation and delivery of solutions as a Subject Matter Expert; Provides expert guidance to the team on new solutions and designs. Conducts research and recommends changes in services, products, protocols and standards to support development efforts and network procurements. Reviews proposed solutions to ensure the delivery of a quality product or service to the customers. Evaluates network technologies for potential acquisition and directs the evaluation of various hardware and software resources to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential benefits to the agency. Manages third-party vendor and leads, directs, and utilizes knowledge on best practices in areas related to networking, data, and telecommunications. Monitors and defines the requirements of the overall security of the enterprise network. Oversees the monitoring and implementation of hardware and software solutions to help mitigate a wide variety of network attacks. Mitigates escalations of client incidents and issues. Assess and troubleshoot, consult with vendors, and coordinate with other teams for problem resolution. Manages and establishes priorities for maintenance, design, development, and analysis of complex network systems. Perform current state and future state network service mapping, conducts gap analysis, estimates and plans delivery milestones, communicate plans and progress, and leads cross-department development meetings.
