Currently, we have an opening for System analyst our direct JOB ID: 2REQ0050858 Position: System analyst Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Duration: 12+ Months (with high possibility of extension) Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid) Job Description: Under guidance of the project manager and leads, this systems analyst will be responsible for requirements gathering, facilitating the discovery process, working with product owners and subject matter experts to document functional requirements and acceptance criteria and communicates them to software development sprint teams through epics/features and user stories. The analyst will need to be able to get up to speed rapidly and acquire a deep functional knowledge of the system. The worker will need to be able to communicate clearly, lead meetings, and be experienced in asking probing what if, what about, type questions to stakeholders. The analyst will help customers express stories in clear and understandable ways and works with testers and customer representatives to help identify and verify acceptance criteria. They should have excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills to articulate concepts, requirements, and rationale. They should be familiar with agile development processes and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements. The analyst works closely with the Project Manager under general supervision, with appropriate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Budgetary rate constraints apply to this requisition. II. CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Requirements: Candidates that do not meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements (skills/experience) will be displayed to customers but may not be chosen for this opportunity. Years Required/Preferred Experience 7 Required Working with product owners and subject matter experts to gather functional requirements and preparing user stories for sprint teams specific to software development projects. 7 Required Leading sprint planning and grooming sessions. 7 Required Collaborating with product owners and IT development teams to elicit, analyze, and elaborate on epics/features; decomposing features into user stories defining both functional and non-functional requirements. 7 Required Analyzing and designing the process and data flows from upstream to downstream systems to meet the solution requirements. 7 Required Working in an Agile methodology project team environment. 7 Required Reviewing, evaluating and testing software and documenting findings to technical and non-technical staff. 7 Required Hands on analysis and experience with Java, REST APIs or similar web service experience and documenting their requirements 7 Required Writing and analyzing simple ad hoc queries. 7 Required Communicating effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels of staff. 5 Preferred Having experience with technologies such as Oracle procedures and functions, Oracle forms and reports, and/or microservices is preferred. 5 Preferred Working with project and collaboration tools for project tracking, such as JIRA or similar.
