This person must monitor CICS and other systems performance factors and identify and make adjustments as necessary to maintain peak performance. Strong problem diagnostics skills are a must. The candidates must be able to work with customers and vendors in resolving CICS related issues. Responsibilities include active participation in planning, design, testing, documenting, and researching all CICS group projects. The candidate must be able to work with other internal support groups, ensuring the environment is capable of providing service as changing requirements dictate. The candidates must possess not only technical expertise, but also effective oral and written communications skills, plus good organizational skills. The candidates must be effective working independently and with others with minimal supervision. This position requires a minimum of 5+ years hands-on experience performing CICS Systems Support duties. Please note that we utilize MQ, administration and support of MQ is a big plus. Key Responsibilities: Applying patches to CICS software CICS ISVs upgrades and maintenance Resource definition Online and batch mode CICS region build Configuration of CICS initialization parameters Troubleshooting and resolving system related abends and issues Identifying patches that need to be installed, and having them installed Security administration for CICS Performance monitoring and tuning CICS intercommunication setup and maintenance Assist in application team on CICS specific issues Defining and Monitoring MQ objects MQ region build Knowledge on MQ sharing concepts Managing WebSphere MQ resources (BSDS, Pagesets, buffer pools, logs) Expertise with all aspects of MQ including installation, operations, coding user exits, security, MQI, performance tuning, CA / Sysview. Support CICSPlex SM environment. Upgrade CICSPlex SM environment. Perform work assignments within CICS using MRO concepts. Use CICS Explorer to monitor CICS systems. Use RACF to support the clients requirements for CICS Applications. Solve complex CICS problems effectively and quickly with minimal assistance and direction. Conduct root cause analysis on issues. Support On-Call 24x7. Support clients with various Web application types. Solve complex problems with limited assistance. Support CICS applications that use DB2. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience in CICS/(MQ experience a plus) on zOS administration Excellent skills on CICS administration which include CICS and its product administration, upgrades/migration and sutomation within CICS systems duties Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts. Must possess excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies. Knowledge on CICSPlex concepts (mandatory) Experience with capacity and performance issues. Experience reading and debugging using mainframe core dumps. Operating with CICS adapter control functions to initiate and manage connections between WebSphere MQ and CICS Experience with TSO/ISPF/SDSF/JCL. Experience with Disaster Recovery processes. Experience with SMP/E. Experience with CICS TS with DB2. Added Desirable Qualifications: MQ on z/OS Administrator Experience in MQ product upgrades and maintenance Experience with IBM CICS Tools IA, CM, PA, and DA. Experience with programming languages like; Assembler, REXX, other script languages, etc. Experience with High Availability Applications. MQ region build Knowledge on MQ sharing concepts Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria: Excellent customer service and communication skills. Detail oriented and accurate.
