Job Title : Business Systems Analyst- Adobe Acrobat Pro/PDF Location: 100% Remote Duration: 6 + months Contract JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments and remediation of small/medium/ large online PDFs to ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards and guidelines, and to ensure access of those PDFs to persons with disabilities who utilize screen readers or other assistive technologies. Use Adobe Acrobat PRO, PAC3, and NVDA to confirm compliance and to make remediations as needed. Track work requests in JIRA. Collaborate with coworkers in finding solutions to technical problems. Collaborate with development teams, designers, content creators, and project managers to provide guidance and recommendations for implementing PDF-accessible design and development practices. Qualifications 4-year degree or equivalent technical experience. Any PDF remediation-related professional training/certification. Demonstrated expertise in Adobe Acrobat PRO / 2007, PAC3, online color contrast analyzers, and using screen readers such as Non-Visual Desktop Access (NVDA) high level of comfort with repetitive tasks while maintaining focus on precision and accuracy. Attention to detail. Knowledge of WCAG 2.0/Section 508 accessibility standards and best practices, as they relate to PDFs accessibility. At least 2 years of hands-on experience remediating PDFs in a large-scale enterprise environment. The hands-on remediation experience should include working with forms and complex/nested tables. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and accessibility requirements to diverse audiences. Please be prepared to do a small hands-on remediation exercise during the interview. Adobe Acrobat PRO: Able to run Adobes accessibility checker on a PDF. Able to interpret the results of a check for remediation needs. Able to remediate each type of issue regardless of the type of failure. Able to navigate between the various views of the accessory tool set, such as thumbnails, content, reading order, and tags. Able to remediate complex/ nested tables, form fields, lists, images, notes, paragraphs, links, annotations, notes, etc., NVDA: Able to read PDF content end-to-end. Able to read sections, levels, and bookmarks only. Able to pause & resume. Able to cross reference PAC3 failures with the screen reader feedback and to confirm applied remediations.
