Our client the state of North Carolina, is seeking an experienced Network Engineer for an onsite role in Durham, North Carolina. Ideal candidates will be within 2 hours or less of Durham. This position will last up to 1 year. This is a completely onsite role on day 1, so candidates must be nearby. Job Description Network Engineer will manage, monitor and secure all wired and wireless network infrastructure as well as L3-7 firewalls, load balancers, IDS/IPS, and all other network-related components and software. Network Engineer, Infrastructure Specialist Expected Skills: Able to work without assistance; can provide leadership to others; able to manage highly complex work efforts; may have advanced education; may have extensive industry experience. Description (including, but not limited to): 1. Design and maintenance of both the hardware and software necessary for a computer network 2. Specialization in Local Area Networks (LANs)/Wide Area Networks (WANs), TCP/IP, virtual machines, and/or server/network infrastructure 3. Responsibility for installation, configuration and administration of wired and wireless network switches, access points, server farm and network-based storage networking components. 4.
