Role :: Business Analyst with Capital Market Location :: Boston/Quincy MA Duration :: 12 Months We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in Capital Markets and Middle Office operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and improving processes, systems, and workflows that support capital markets activities, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. This role requires a deep understanding of capital markets products, trade lifecycle management, and middle office functions. Key Responsibilities: Process Analysis & Improvement: Analyze existing middle office processes related to trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation. Identify inefficiencies and propose solutions to streamline operations, reduce risk, and enhance productivity. Collaborate with front office, back office, and technology teams to implement process improvements. System Implementation & Enhancement: Participate in the design, testing, and implementation of new systems and tools that support middle office functions. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for middle office systems, ensuring seamless integration with other trading platforms. Work with IT teams to define and document system requirements and enhancements. Data Management & Reporting: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data throughout the trade lifecycle. Develop and maintain reports and dashboards that provide visibility into middle office performance, including trade matching, settlement efficiency, and exception management. Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to senior management. Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about regulatory changes that impact middle office operations and ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., Dodd-Frank, EMIR, MiFID II). Collaborate with compliance teams to implement necessary changes to systems and processes. Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between the middle office, front office, back office, and external stakeholders (e.g., custodians, clearing houses). Gather and document business requirements from various stakeholders and translate them into technical specifications. Present analysis, findings, and recommendations to senior management and project teams. Project Management: Lead and manage middle office projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met and risks are managed effectively. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. A Masters degree or relevant certification (e.g., CFA, FRM, PMP) is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in capital markets, with a focus on middle office operations. Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and middle office processes, including trade capture, validation, settlement, and reconciliation. Experience with financial instruments such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, and FX. Technical Skills: Proficiency in middle office systems and trade processing platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, MarkitSERV, Calypso). Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI). Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) is preferred. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
