Job Role:- Data Analyst With Medical Device Location :- Philadelphia, PA Contract Job Description : We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Analyst with expertise in signal processing of human respiratory acoustic data to join our dedicated team. As a Data Analyst specializing in respiratory acoustics, you will be instrumental in analyzing and extracting valuable insights from complex respiratory datasets, contributing to advancements in respiratory health research and medical applications. This person will start as a sole contributor, and eventually have 2+ others reporting into them. The goal of this team is to optimize the functionality of the throat device, as it continues through production. Examples: Analyzing acoustic based differentiation (breathing vs. talking vs. heartrate vs. swallowing vs. cough vs. hospital sound vs. sneeze) to enhance noise cancelling features of device. Discerning which sounds to leverage for analysis and treatment. Identifying gaps in what the device is currently analyzing vs. what could be helpful for patient care. Looking for trends and patterns through device analysis. Monitoring battery life and usage capabilities. Day to day: Contribute to decision making around data download batch cycles (Should it be real time Can it load 2 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 seconds What are the benefits) What format should each data point be collected or analyzed within Identify gaps within data set and opportunities to optimize the data collection. Understand device limitations and communicate design opportunities (look, feel, size, battery capability, Bluetooth function). Job Description: Basic Qualifications: 5 years of relevant experience in data analysis. Experience within medical device analysis. Strong background in signal processing, digital signal analysis, and time-frequency analysis techniques. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, R, Java, or C/CH++, and familiarity with relevant libraries and tools for signal processing. Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques, machine learning/AI algorithms, cloud-based platforms such as Azure, data streaming, and data visualization tools. A demonstrated record of producing actionable insights from analytics. Knowledge in developing descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive algorithms and modeling to support commercial initiatives. Self-motivated and proactive with ability to work objectively with minimum direction. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences. Preferred: Experience with analysis and interpretation of acoustic data and especially with human respiratory acoustic data (or other biological signals), such as lung sounds, breath sounds, or respiratory waveforms. Background in device development - This person will have a lot of autonomy and will be a huge part of how the device is continuously developed based on their data discovery Responsibilities: 1. Data Analysis: Use advanced signal processing techniques to analyze and interpret human respiratory acoustic data, including tracheal breathing sounds and related physiological signals, to extract relevant information and identify patterns, trends, and abnormalities. 2. Signal Processing: Develop and implement innovative algorithms and methodologies for filtering, feature extraction, classification, and segmentation of respiratory acoustic signals, tailored specifically to human respiratory data. 3. Statistical Modeling: Apply statistical analysis techniques to characterize respiratory acoustic data, identify trends, correlations, and anomalies, and perform hypothesis testing to validate findings. 4. Data Visualization: Create clear and visually engaging visualizations, such as spectrograms, waveforms, and time-frequency plots, to effectively communicate respiratory acoustic data analysis results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 5. Collaborative Research: Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams of researchers, respiratory experts, and healthcare professionals to design and conduct data-driven research studies, providing valuable insights and expertise in signal processing of respiratory acoustic data. 6. Data Quality Assurance: Ensure data integrity and quality by conducting rigorous data cleaning, preprocessing, and validation procedures, adhering to established standards and protocols. 7. Technical Documentation: Document data analysis processes, methodologies, and results in a clear and concise manner, producing comprehensive reports and presentations for scientific publications and internal stakeholders. 8. Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in signal processing techniques, respiratory health research, and related fields, actively participating in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
