The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis within the mortgage industry, proficiency in SQL and Excel, and experience with AWS. This is a remote position with a preference for candidates located in the Washington, DC area. Key Responsibilities: Requirements Gathering: Work closely with stakeholders to elicit, document, and manage business requirements related to secondary mortgage operations. Data Analysis: Utilize SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various sources to support business decisions and reporting needs. Financial Analysis: Apply financial analysis techniques to assess mortgage-related data, trends, and performance metrics. Reporting & Documentation: Create detailed reports and documentation using Excel and other tools to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders. Technology Integration: Leverage AWS tools and services to support data management and analytical processes. Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams including IT, finance, and operations to ensure alignment and successful implementation of business requirements. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the secondary mortgage operations. Qualifications: Experience: 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the financial or mortgage industry. Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis, advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and reporting, and familiarity with AWS services. Financial Knowledge: Strong understanding of secondary mortgage processes, financial analysis, and reporting. Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at various levels. Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA, PMP) are a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Local Presence: Candidates located in or near the Washington, DC area are preferred to facilitate occasional in-person meetings. Industry Knowledge: Experience with secondary mortgage market regulations and standards.
