Alternatively, four (4) years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for the educational requirement. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable. The Department requires the following experience, skills, and/or knowledge for this position: Five (5) or more years of Windows server experience; Three (3) or more years of Microsoft Azure or Cloud experience; Three (3) or more years of Linux server experience; Server administration experience with three (3) or more years administering Windows 2016 and newer; Five (5) or more years of experience with Active Directory and Domain Name System (DNS) administration in an enterprise environment with 1,000 or more users; Experience writing, testing, and executing Power scripts; Experience working in a virtual server or Cloud environment; and Experience installing, maintaining, and supporting third party applications. Scope of Work/Job Characteristics The Azure Cloud Engineer shall serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the Department. The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows: Develop and maintain processes that optimize Microsoft Azure resources; Analyze Azure resource performance to identify resource contention, and recommend changes or upgrades as needed to ensure optimization; Perform Microsoft Entra identification management activities; Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation; Work with data center staff, OIT, and users to perform Azure resource deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes; Assist Azure application owners/administrators and users with appropriate application access; Train infrastructure team members on Azure and Azure best practices as required; Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows and Linux server issues with minimal impact on users; Write Power scripts to be used to monitor server properties and perform Active Directory and Azure management activities; Administer and configure Azure infrastructure security as needed for OIT staff and users; Research and recommend appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements; Provide recommendations for possible process improvements within the Departments infrastructure team; Create schedules for the development and implementation of specific software systems; and Perform additional Systems Administrator tasks as required by the Department. NOTE: In addition to the above list, the selected Candidate must successfully complete a Level II Background Check. Preferred Qualifications The Department prefers the Candidate to have the following experience, skills, and/or knowledge for this position: Certification in Agile or Scrum-based Project Management; IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service Management Foundations Certified; Experience managing projects with a large, distributed user base; Experience developing and managing schedules for multiple projects; Experience managing waterfall projects; Experience with state government projects; Experience managing and reporting projects in compliance with Rule 60GG-1, F.A.C.; Experience working with technical programming teams; Ability to demonstrate a professional can-do attitude with the initiative to solve complex problems; Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders; Skills in facilitation and team building; Knowledge of IT standards in a criminal justice environment; Knowledge in other IT areas such as programming and data analytics etc.; A team player attitude with a high-energy level and diligent work ethic; and Ability to meet or exceed deadlines, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and organize and prioritize activities.
