The ideal candidate will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of PostgreSQL database systems, ensuring the highest level of availability and performance for mission-critical applications. Key Responsibilities: Manage PostgreSQL databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems. Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security. Perform regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, database server resources, systems, and key processes. Provide 24/7 support for critical production systems and perform regular database tuning and performance optimization. Design and implement backup and recovery strategies. Troubleshoot PostgreSQL database performance issues, resolve outages, and automate administrative tasks. Collaborate with application developers to create optimized queries and schemas to meet the project needs. Conduct regular security monitoring to identify potential vulnerabilities and proactively implement solutions. Stay current with PostgreSQL features and technologies to enhance database services. Secure experience in Data Quality, Source Systems Analysis, Business Rules Validation, Source Target Mapping Design, Performance Tuning, and High-Volume Data Loads. Required Skills and Experience: 5+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA or in a similar role. Proficiency in database administration, backups, recovery, and security. Expertise in performance tuning and query optimization. In-depth knowledge of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) options for PostgreSQL. Experience with scripting languages such as , Python, or Perl for automation. Familiarity with cloud-based database services such as AWS RDS for PostgreSQL for PostgreSQL. Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with replication and load balancing for PostgreSQL. Knowledge of other relational databases such as Oracle or MySQL. Familiarity with database migration tools and techniques.
