JOB SNAPSHOT Industry: Computer Software, Computer Hardware, Networking, Network Security Education: 2- or 4- year degree preferred but not required Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Juniper, and/or similar manufacturers. Location: Able to work full-time from our offices in Lyndhurst, NJ Required Travel: Yes, travel to various client sites, as needed, to complete projects JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The Network Engineer's role is to provide high quality day to day support, design, and implementation services for data network projects for various clients in the New York Metropolitan area. The successful candidate will be assessing, planning, implementing, configuring, and documenting all solution and system deployments within the network across multiple client projects. The work will involve working on project tasks for various Altitude Unlimited clients along with Network Architects, systems engineers, junior network engineers and project management personnel. The engineer will work on various network hardware/software but is biased towards Aruba, Cisco and Juniper routers, switches, and wireless solutions including both configuration design & implementation on customer-facing devices. Knowledge of firewalls such as the Fortinet FortiGate, Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, and Palo Alto Networks PAN is a plus. Knowledge of WiFi solutions such as the HPE Aruba, Cisco Meraki, and Extreme is a plus. JOB DESCRIPTION This is a mid-level role, and the engineer will be required to troubleshoot problems within client networks, manage smaller projects and timelines directly and may manage, dotted-line, junior network engineers and interns, as necessary, to complete projects in a timely manner. He/she will also work with project management teams to ensure that project deliverables are understood, and timescales are committed to and met. He/she will be responsible for the technical review & approval of network level changes and implementation of complex changes. JOB REQUIREMENTS BS in Network Engineer, Computer Science, or equivalent experience Work experience as a Network Engineer of at least 3-5 years Strong knowledge of Aruba, Cisco and/or Juniper routers, switches, load balancing and security concepts BGP/VRF routing concepts, IP/ARP/MAC/Spanning-tree issues, and configurations Troubleshooting VLAN or physical connectivity for servers and other devices Troubleshooting security policies, NAT rules and other firewall configurations Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, flags, and ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues using Wireshark, TCPdump and other tools Analytical and detail oriented Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Fluent English written and verbal communications Prior onsite client experience The ability to work well in a collaborative team atmosphere A passion for technology Knowledge of Security principles and familiarity with Cisco, Juniper and Palo Alto firewalls, a plus. Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, Cisco CCNA/CCNP or similar manufacturer certifications are a plus.
