Max rate 50/h on c2c Job Title:- System Architect Location:- Frankfort, Kentucky(Remote) Duration:-12 Month Contract Purpose: This position is to maintain supported directory and security services that our office within KDE provides to the 171 school districts across Kentucky and KDE employees. In addition, this position will assist with creating strategies to maintain our current services. These services include a large Managed Security Services (MSS) Premises-Based Firewall Solution at each site, a single active directory forest with 180 domains servicing over 750,000 users, multiple Microsoft 365 Online offerings, and many other critical, high visibility identity and security software services. This position may require periodic on-call duty outside normal business hours to ensure that the supported systems are operating as intended and time sensitive deliverables are addressed. The on-call duties will be defined at the discretion of the client manager and/or the on-call policy for the organization. Description Develop strategies to improve the security posture for KDE and our 171 districts. Perform firewall management and monitoring, including rule set configuration and validation for KDE and all KY K-12 school districts. Provide operational support and management of the KY K-12 Enterprise Active Directory environment, in cooperation with Microsoft. Management of enterprise remote access solution for all KY K-12 users. Serve as a project resource for major directory and security initiatives KY K-12 school districts. Manage and support the provisioning system from an on-premises AD forest to multiple Microsoft Azure AD tenants via Azure AD Connect and Google Workspace for Education. Management of statewide DNS infrastructure (both Windows-based and Linux-based). Lead and/or assist in technical presentations to KY K-12 school district customers.
