Job Title: Senior DB2 Developer Location: Minneapolis, MN (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) Experience Required: 8+ years Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DB2 Developer to join our team in Minneapolis, MN. This position requires a strong background in Mainframe technologies and a deep understanding of CA Gen, DB2, and CICS. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with a proven track record in developing and maintaining complex applications. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain applications using CA Gen (CoolGen) version 8.6, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards. Write and optimize SQL queries to interact efficiently with DB2 databases on the mainframe. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and troubleshoot CICS real-time transaction processing applications. Create and manage JCL scripts for batch processing, ensuring robust and efficient execution of jobs. Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers, promoting knowledge sharing and skill enhancement. Analyze system performance and implement enhancements to optimize application efficiency and reliability. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Must-Have Skills: Mainframe CA Gen Experience: Proven experience utilizing CA Gen (CoolGen) product, preferably version 8.6. DB2 Application Development: Strong experience writing CA Gen applications that leverage DB2 on the mainframe. CICS Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of CICS for real-time transaction processing. SQL Expertise: Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for data manipulation and reporting. JCL and Batch Processing: Experience with Job Control Language (JCL) and batch processing on the mainframe environment. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in mainframe development, with a focus on CA Gen, DB2, CICS, SQL, and JCL. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
