Monitor and respond to security events and alerts, ensuring timely investigation and resolution of incidents. Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks. Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and best practices for cloud environments. Work with DevOps and engineering teams to integrate security controls into cloud applications and infrastructure. Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR . Manage identity and access management (IAM), ensuring the principle of least privilege is enforced. Implement security automation for continuous monitoring, logging, and alerting using GCP tools like Security Command Center, Cloud Audit Logs, and Chronicle . Collaborate with the engineering teams to design secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures. Conduct security training and awareness programs for internal teams. Requirements: 3+ years of experience in cloud security engineering, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . Strong knowledge of GCP security services such as Cloud IAM, VPC Service Controls, Cloud Armor, Cloud KMS , and Security Command Center . Experience with security frameworks like CIS GCP Benchmark , NIST , or OWASP . Proficiency in Python, Bash , or similar languages for automation and scripting. Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM , IDS/IPS , and firewall management in a cloud environment. Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager . Knowledge of network security principles, including firewalls, VPNs, and SSL/TLS encryption. Strong understanding of incident detection and response, vulnerability management, and forensic analysis. Experience implementing Zero Trust architectures and secure network configurations. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
