Role: Cyber Security Engineer Location: Edison, NJ (Only Locals) Duration: Contract Experience: 10+ years Visa: Only H1B with Passport Number Role Description: Key Responsibilities: Design and implement security protocols, controls, and architecture for systems and networks. Perform security assessments, including vulnerability scans and penetration testing. Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and mitigate risks through proactive defenses. Ensure the security of IT systems by updating firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with security standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, GDPR). Investigate security breaches and provide timely incident responses. Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures. Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure security best practices are integrated across systems and processes. Prepare reports that document security incidents and outcomes. Stay up to date on the latest cybersecurity trends, tools, and techniques to proactively manage evolving threats. Lead efforts in automating security controls to enhance efficiency. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a cybersecurity or related IT role. In-depth understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, such as NIST, ISO, and CIS controls. Hands-on experience with security technologies, including firewalls, SIEM systems, IDS/IPS, and encryption tools. Proficiency in performing security risk assessments, vulnerability management, and penetration testing. Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is preferred. Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CISM, CompTIA Security+) are highly desired. Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing) and encryption protocols. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
