Looking On-site || Quality Automation Engineer In Vehicle || Detroit, MI (Onsite) Vehicle Update Service (VUS) team is responsible for the Over the Air Software delivery platform for GM vehicles with a vision to build the unified channel that ensures that every GM customer knows their vehicle is always up to date and improving without needlessly interrupting their life. VUS Core Team is responsible for the back-office platform that takes care of execution & delivery of Firmware Over the Air Updates to GM vehicles. It owns end to end responsibility of multiple critical microservices that takes care of different OTA workflows, package building and all types of vehicle interactions with a total ownership of more than 30 backend microservices based off of JAVA, Spring Boot & KAFKA. The team closely works with multiple stakeholders including the system operation team, vehicle clients, product teams, and other back-office teams to provide a highly integrated and reliable OTA platform. As a Quality Automation engineer in the team, you will be part of scrum team closely working with other members of the team following DEVOPS principles doing the following. Develop & Execute test plans and procedures that comprehend feature requirements and functionalities. Develop and implement automation suites for the backend components at the subsystem level & and component level using API / contract testing. Integrate the subsystem test suites & component test suites with existing CI / CD pipelines. Triage system level nonconformities to the appropriate offending module or system. Document all anomalies using existing documentation tools (for example JIRA/PRTS) Follow issue resolution from issue origination through verification, closure, and monitoring. Understand the complex suite of backend microservices, the workflows involved with them. High caliber, Willingness to learn their business / technology domain. In this role most of time will be spent in coming up different test suites (system integration, regression, smoke, components), automation of various tests cases, integrating them with CI / CD pipelines, validation of our application. You would be working on Java / Spring boot /Rest Assured/PYTHON/ Automation Suites /Automation Frameworks/ SonarQube / CI CD pipeline tools / ORACLE / Postgres / REST / KAFKA / PULSAR/ Microservices /Cloud Foundry/ Azure Cloud / Kibana etc. Minimum Job Qualifications: Degree in Computer Science / Engineering (or equivalent) 6+ years of Testing experience either Manual or Automated. In-depth understanding of QA practices, standards, and testing processes. Demonstrates expertise in software quality assurance/quality control. Ability to translate Functional and Operational requirements into test cases and scenarios.
