Job Title: Lead Test Engineer (SDET/ Java/ BDD) Location: Des Moines, IA (Hybrid) Experience: 12+ Job Type: Contract Job Description: We are looking for a motivated and experienced Automation SDET to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation testing using Java and experience with Behavior-Driven Development ( BDD) frameworks. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through the development and execution of automated test scripts. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java and BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, JBehave). Collaborate with product owners, developers, and QA engineers to define acceptance criteria and ensure test coverage aligns with business requirements. Implement test automation strategies and frameworks to improve testing efficiency and effectiveness. Execute automated tests, analyze results, and report defects in a timely manner. Participate in code reviews and contribute to test strategy discussions. Monitor and maintain test environments to ensure they are stable and up-to-date. Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies through the adoption of best practices. Provide mentorship and support to junior team members in test automation techniques. Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in test automation with Java, including BDD methodologies. Strong knowledge of testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit). Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI). Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in cross-functional teams. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Preferred Skills: Experience with API testing and tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured). Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
