Big Data and Java expertise are essential. Candidates need to interview in person at the Jersey City office, with identity verification required. Ensure candidates are available immediately and thoroughly screened for all skills.Job Description: This role requires a Senior Java Engineer with in-depth Java knowledge and solid Big Data expertise. The candidate will implement and optimize features using Java, Spring, and Big Data technologies. The engineer will also engage in performance tuning, containerization, and participate in technical roadmaps and daily scrums.Responsibilities: Develop application features using Java, Spring, and Big Data technologies. Optimize Java processes using JVM tuning, heap/thread dumps, and monitoring tools. Tune Big Data processes (ingress/egress, scaling, monitoring). Participate in daily stand-ups and roadmap discussions to improve frameworks and own execution. Ensure code quality, readability, and maintain continuous integration standards.Required Skills & Experience: 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience. 7+ years as a lead developer on Java backends. 5+ years of Big Data development with Spark and frameworks like Hadoop, Hive, HDFS, Impala, Presto. Performance tuning expertise with Java and Big Data. Strong knowledge of Linux systems, Bash scripting, and Unix commands. Understanding of RDBMS, NoSQL, and Columnar databases (Parquet, AVRO, ORC, Iceberg). Familiarity with microservices architecture, containerization, and orchestration tools. Knowledge of Helm, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Gradle, and Maven. Experience with ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, and Open Telemetry for monitoring and telemetry. Experience in financial services is a plus.Additional Requirements: Ability to interview in-person at Jersey City. COVID-19 vaccination required for onsite work.
