Please let me know your interest for the below role:- Title: Business Analyst with Downstream Oil & Gas/Trading Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid) Job Type: 12 Months Contract Job Description Requirement Gathering & Analysis: Work closely with stakeholders across trading, operations, and IT to gather, analyze, and document business requirements. Translate these into functional and technical requirements for development. Process Improvement: Identify, analyze, and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, increase profitability, and improve decision-making capabilities in trading and downstream functions. Data Analysis & Reporting: Develop and maintain analytical models and reports to provide insights into market trends, trading performance, and operational efficiencies. Utilize advanced data analysis tools to support strategic business decisions. Trading System Support: Collaborate with trading and IT teams to support and optimize trading platforms. Provide ongoing support for trade entry, position management, P&L, and risk management systems. Project Management: Lead or support cross-functional projects related to trading and downstream operations. Ensure that projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards. Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication between business units and technical teams to ensure alignment and understanding across all levels of the organization. Market Knowledge: Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions to provide insights that align with business strategy and trading objectives. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMP) are a plus. Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role within the downstream oil and gas sector or commodity trading. Proven experience in a trading environment, with exposure to trading systems (e.g., Endur, Allegro, RightAngle) and familiarity with trading practices, risk management, and market analysis. Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau). Experience with SQL or other data extraction tools. Basic understanding of programming languages such as Python or VBA is a plus. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
