Job title: Business Analyst Location: Austin, TX / Houston, TX Hire type: Contract Rate: $40/hr Job Description: Key Responsibilities : 1. Requirement Gathering & Analysis : o Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and document business requirements. o Analyze and translate business needs into functional specifications for technical teams. o Conduct detailed analysis of processes supported by key applications. 2. Application Support : o Work closely with cross-functional teams to support Java-based applications, including the NGQ (core Quoting application) and Deal UI. o Assist in the migration and enhancement of legacy applications (e.g., Eclipse replacement) and ensure smooth integration with new systems. 3. Documentation & Design : o Prepare design documents based on business requirements and ensure alignment with business processes. o Support the design, development, and implementation of functional solutions that meet business needs. 4. Communication & Stakeholder Management : o Serve as a key liaison between the business and IT teams. o Facilitate discussions to ensure clear understanding of business objectives and technical feasibility. o Provide regular updates and status reports to stakeholders. 5. Process Improvement : o Analyze and recommend improvements in business processes and systems. o Ensure smooth operations and identify potential areas for optimization within supported applications. Required Skills & Experience : 5-10 years of Business Analysis experience , preferably with expertise in Java-based applications. Strong functional knowledge of enterprise applications, specifically within coding and deal management systems. Solid understanding of Java technologies and their role in supporting backend operations. Proficiency in creating and maintaining design documents and translating business needs into actionable technical requirements. Ability to work proactively, engage with business teams, and provide analytical insights. Experience in analytics, process flow analysis, and requirement documentation. Familiarity with legacy-to-modern application migrations is a plus. Preferred Skills : Experience with CPQ processes (Configure, Price, Quote) and related services.
