Role: Mainframe Developer Location: Louisville, KY or Cincinnati, OH (Only Locals) Duration: Contract Experience: 10+ years Visa : Only H1B with Passport Number Role Description: Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain mainframe hardware, software, and systems. Monitor mainframe systems for performance and reliability, proactively identifying and addressing issues. Perform system tuning, optimization, and capacity planning to ensure high system performance. Manage job scheduling, backups, and disaster recovery solutions. Ensure security compliance by implementing and managing system-level security configurations. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and troubleshooting guides. Coordinate with application development, operations, and support teams to facilitate smooth operations and system integrations. Conduct regular system updates, patches, and upgrades. Provide on-call support for critical system issues outside of regular business hours. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in mainframe administration or a related role. Proficiency in mainframe operating systems (e.g., z/OS, OS/390) and mainframe tools. Strong knowledge of job scheduling tools (e.g., CA-7, Control-M) and storage management solutions. Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and system optimization. Familiarity with mainframe security protocols, disaster recovery, and backup processes. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
