Role: Site Reliability Engineer Location: Chicago, IL (Only Locals) Duration: Contract Experience: 12+ years Visa: Only H1B with Passport Number Note: Need Purely SRE, Dont share DevOps profiles Role Description: Responsibilities: Ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of production and development systems across cloud environments. Develop and manage monitoring, alerting, and automated response systems to identify and respond to potential issues before they impact customers. Create and maintain tools to automate deployment, configuration, and monitoring to reduce manual tasks and improve system reliability. Investigate and resolve technical issues, conducting thorough root cause analyses to prevent future occurrences. Forecast system demand and ensure infrastructure is scaled appropriately to handle load changes. Work closely with software engineers to understand application requirements, optimize deployments, and ensure smooth handoffs between development and production. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including playbooks, runbooks, and process guides, to improve response time and consistency in incident handling. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years in a Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or similar role. Proven experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). Technical Skills: Strong scripting abilities (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and monitoring. Proficiency with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git. Knowledge of container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) and deployment strategies. Solid understanding of networking, load balancing, and security best practices. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Effective communication skills to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.
