A typical software engineer researches, designs, develops and tests operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific and general computing applications. Skills: Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. Expert ability to work independently and manage one's time. Expert mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback. Expert knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery. Expert ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue. Expert knowledge of computer hardware and software. Knowledge of computer development software as it relates to systems, such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required. 10+ years experience required. Strong experience in Talend ETL - 5+ years Strong Unix skills Strong SQL skills Strong Communication skills including ability to translate business terminology to technical specifications and delivery, as well as communicating technical knowledge to business and less technical stakeholders Strong Design and Architecture mindset Architect and Design for Supportabilty, Extensibility, Flexibility and Simplicity Propose creative solutions, alternative solutions, and recommendations Estimate effort and duration of solutions Strong coding, and testing skills Strong quality and delivery mindset delivering solutions on-time, with minimal issues Change Management / Deployment experience deployment request through post go-live verification, support, and delivery of fixes, as needed Experience and ability to work with technical infrastructure groups like - server and network resources Preferred, but not required: Experience with Big Data and Hadoop Talend technology JDA /Blue Yonder SCPO Ordering modules Any experience with other ETL tools outside of Talend Cloud-based solutions knowledge/experience Experience with SaaS-based and on-premise solutions Experience with integrating multiple disparate systems to/from a Supply Chain Ordering/Planning solution (like JDA/Blue Yonder, others) o Retail and Supply Chain experience Ability to lead more junior engineers to deliver solutions Keywords: information technology golang Illinois Senior Software Engineer [email protected] |
