Title: Developer(Java/Python) Location: Boston, MA United States (on-site) Duration: 12 months (extendable) JOB DESCRIPTION Work under minimal supervision to analyze, design, develop, unit test, and debug medium to large software enhancements and solutions as part of Global Treasuries IT division and technical problem domains including supporting vendor application and modifications to State Street custom code and interfaces Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product owners to turn moderately complex business requirements into working and sustainable software solution to business Provide thought leadership in the design of back-end functionality, operational workflow, and business solution to complex Business problems Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects using Unix, C, C++, Java, Python, J2EE technologies, Tomcat, webservices, distributed computing, scripting, AutoSys and other related software engineering languages and tools Write unit test cases and review automation/SQA tests to ensure a high-quality end product Contribute to written design and documentation of application functionality, participate in Business Analysis, functional Spec. reviews and reviews of change management and deployment process. Help maintain a stable and error/incident free Production and test environments for users across diff regions NA and EMEA, ensure SLAs are upheld and various feeds to upstream and downstream systems are maintained Actively participate and assist in improving development and test methodologies and contribute to related usage of tools such as RTC, Github, Jira, UCD, Agile methodology and cloud development frameworks Conduct manual/automated unit tests and system integration testing with various downstream & up stream systems to ensure a high quality end product Provide expert level troubleshooting on large, mission critical system upgrades and client/regulatory specific implementations and cross-team/cross-product functionality Provide informed guidance and direction in code reviews Provide mentoring to support staff and other consultants Participate in cross-team group activities to complete respective assignments and help manage overall product delivery Education: B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical course of study required. MS degree strongly preferred. Experience: 10 to 12 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience preferably in a financial services product delivery setting 5 to 7 years of experience in financial services industry developing solutions for Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Post-Trade processing, accounting, pricing, accruals on the Fixed-income processing and Interest rate derivatives products such as SUMMIT is strongly desirable.
