Job Title: Sr. DevOps Consultant with AVS & IFE Exp

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct a comprehensive technical assessment and peer review of the Avant-Up product line engineering environment, currently built on Bitbucket and Jenkins.

Gain a deep understanding of the product-to-project approach and the current development workbench setup.

Analyze the existing value and ROI of the current environment and identify potential benefits of migrating to a GitLab + GitLab CI setup.

Evaluate the dependency of the current CI/CD pipeline on the existing continuous automated testing infrastructure.

Propose a set of recommendations and best practices for effectively utilizing GitLab + GitLab CI in the Avant-Up context, covering development, testing, and deployment phases.

Develop a migration strategy to transition from Bitbucket and Jenkins to GitLab + GitLab CI, minimizing risks and ensuring a smooth transition.

Identify potential risks associated with maintaining the current Git repository configuration during the migration process.

Required Skills:

DevOps Expertise:
Proven experience in DevOps principles, practices, and tools.

GitLab Proficiency:
Deep understanding of GitLab and GitLab CI for version control, CI/CD pipelines, and code
collaboration.

Toolchain Expertise:
Strong knowledge of Artifactory, Sonarqube, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and other relevant tools
in the software development lifecycle.

Technical Assessment and Problem-Solving:
Ability to analyze complex technical environments, identify bottlenecks,
and propose effective solutions.

Project Management:
Strong project management skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.

Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical
and non-technical stakeholders.

Desired Skills:

Infrastructure Knowledge:
Understanding of underlying IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and databases.

Engineering Environment Expertise:
Familiarity with engineering environments, workbenches, and tools.
