Job: AWS DevOps Administrator Location: Canada (remote) Term: 12+ Months Linked in must Job Description We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Administrator to manage complex environments and automate deployment pipelines using tools like Octopus Deploy. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AWS solution architecture and best practices, along with extensive experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines for large-scale systems. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless operation, security, and scalability of our cloud-based infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Architect, manage, and maintain AWS environments with a focus on scalability, reliability, and security best practices. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK for automated resource management. Optimize cloud resources (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) for cost-effectiveness and performance. Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Octopus Deploy, Jenkins, and AWS CodePipeline to streamline deployments. Automate deployment, testing, and integration processes for microservices and serverless applications. Implement AWS security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, and VPC security. Ensure compliance with industry standards (SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR) and conduct regular security audits. Proactively monitor and maintain high-availability infrastructure, ensuring zero-downtime. Automate routine tasks like scaling and monitoring using scripts (Python, Bash, Power) to improve efficiency. Continuously optimize pipelines and infrastructure for performance, scalability, and governance. Required Skills and Experience: 8+ years of experience in DevOps roles, with a strong focus on AWS cloud environments. Proven expertise in AWS services such as EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, ECS/EKS, and networking (VPC, Route 53, CloudFront). Extensive experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Octopus Deploy and Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar. Proficiency in infrastructure automation using CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK. Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, Power, or similar languages. Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes or ECS/EKS. Deep understanding of AWS security best practices, including IAM, security groups, and encryption. Monitoring and logging expertise using tools like AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, or ELK Stack. Experience managing complex environments with multiple pipelines, microservices, and cross-region deployments. Preferred Qualifications: AWS Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect, pro certifications a huge plus Experience with DevSecOps practices, integrating security into CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with GitOps methodologies. Advanced knowledge of Octopus Deploy including complex deployment patterns and integration with AWS services. Experience with cost optimization strategies in AWS environments. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
