Role: Teradata Admin Work Location: San Ramon, CA 94583 **Hybrid work setup** Duration: 12 Months JD: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education. At least 6 years of experience with Teradata DB Administration. Responsibilities: Responsible for im administration of Teradata DB infrastructure. Responsible for capacity planning and estimating the requirements for lowering or increasing the capacity of the Teradata DB. Experience with Data Lake, Data Warehouses and Data Marts Consult on physical database implementations, PPI, skew analysis, join methods, and data access paths Establish and Maintain Backup and Recovery Policies and Procedures Experiences in backup and restore (BAR) design and implementation Very strong in database design, tuning, and troubleshooting Solid in the transition of the logical data models to physical data models using Er-Win or equivalent data modeling tools Experience in setup, configuration and management of security and integration with LDAP/AD at an Enterprise level. Stay up to date with new Teradata releases and technologies and make recommendations for upgrades as necessary Ensure the security of sensitive data by implementing and maintaining appropriate security measures Advanced working knowledge of Teradata suite of tools; DataMover, BAR, TASM, TTU Tools, TPT, DBQL, PDCR, Viewpoint, Querygrid Automate DBA daily activities through Jenkin, Git, Scripting etc. Monitoring and controlling the performance and status of critical components and providing technology component support and problem resolution. Knowledge of implementing Row/Column level Data security, Data Encryption. General operational expertise such as good troubleshooting skills, understanding of system capacity, bottle necks and storage capacity planning. Ability to be flexible and adaptable when dealing with change Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Point of Contact for Vendor escalation. Handling designers, developers and business request. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of additional tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, Business Objects, Informatica is a plus Skills: 6+ years experiences in Teradata Administration In depth knowledge of Linux Administration and Architecture In depth knowledge of Operations management ITIL Tools In depth knowledge of Data warehousing, Teradata Administration Good to have Performance, Monitoring- Scripting experience - write code and automate repeatable processes Experience with Automation tools like GIT, Jenkins. Cloud/VM experience - deploying and administration of apps on AWS.
