Must Have Local Consultant Washington, DC and Same Location DMV Job Title: Network Engineer (Mid-Level) Job Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid 3 days a week onsite)-Candidate from DMV area only-1 Hr driving distance Work Auth: ANY-NO OPT Rate: $60/hr on C2C MOI:Skype Note: We are seeking candidates with CCNP or higher-level certifications. Please provide a copy of certification or certification number. Responsibilities include: Identify hardware, software, and external service cost estimates and resource requirements. Inform stakeholders of the strategy for deployment of new implementations, as well as the maintenance and upgrades of existing equipment. Ensure compliance with incidents, problem, and change management procedures and execute ticket-based requests with little or no additional help. Participate and manage technical project review meetings to ensure technical designs meet the clients operational requirements and infrastructure/security standards. Work with the Infrastructure Services Team to develop and operate a technology roadmap based on established priorities to meet strategic engineering goals, such as Enterprise Architecture, Quality Assurance, Performance, Operations and Support. Improve infrastructure operations through better use of monitoring, Configuration, and scripting best practices. Deliver fully functioning network services with secure access points across all premises, cloud service environments. Identify on-premises technologies and their cloud counterparts and automate infrastructure migration to cloud environments. Perform network engineering tasks relating to perimeter security, encryption, micro-segmentation, firewall configuration, connectivity, and protocols. Manage and develop technical artifacts, such as an Implementation Plan, System Administration Guide, Operational Turnover Plan, System Security Plan, etc. Understand software development and Agile best practices as it relates to work coordination, acceptance criteria, and deployment management. Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience as a Network Engineer Proficient in Cloud Technologies, including Azure and AWS Extensive experience with Microsoft technologies and Active Directory Certified in CCNP or higher certs. Prior professional experience in IT Strategy, IT Business Management, Cloud & Infrastructure, or Systems Engineering Experience working independently with minimal supervision and guidance. Focus on results and be delivery oriented, with a keen interest on quality and the ability to meet deadlines. Ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner, that appeals to a wide audience. Compute: Infrastructure, Platform Sizing, Consolidation, Tiered and Virtualized Storage, Automated Provisioning, Rationalization, Infrastructure Cost Reduction, thin Provisioning Experience with Operating systems and Software: Upgrade Planning and Implementation, Clustering and Grid Computing. Experience with Virtualization: Virtualization Server, Storage, Desktop, Network; Reducing Sprawl; Advisory on Migration Disposition/Type (Re-host, Re-platform, Refactor, etc.) Experience with Infrastructure-Based Processes: Monitoring, Capacity Planning, Facilities Management, Performance Tuning, Asset Management, Disaster Recovery, Data Center support.
