The successful candidate will have expertise in managing hardware, operating systems, networks, and performing SAP system upgrades. This role is critical to ensuring our SAP environment is reliable, secure, and meets the evolving needs of the business. Key Responsibilities SAP Landscape Management : Manage and oversee the entire SAP technical landscape, including hardware, operating systems, and network infrastructure. Utilize SAP Solution Manager for monitoring, administration, and optimization of SAP systems, ensuring operational stability and performance. Coordinate with IT infrastructure teams to ensure alignment of SAP systems with broader enterprise architecture and IT policies. System Upgrades and Maintenance : Plan, schedule, and execute SAP system upgrades, including support pack updates, enhancement packs, and kernel updates. Manage infrastructure readiness for SAP HANA and ECC environments, ensuring system compatibility with new updates and configurations. Collaborate with SAP Basis and application teams to execute upgrades with minimal disruption to business operations. Hardware and OS Management : Oversee and manage the hardware and OS configurations that support SAP environments, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization. Work with hardware and OS teams to address issues related to performance, scalability, and security for SAP systems. Plan for future capacity needs and perform routine maintenance of hardware, operating systems, and networks. Network and Security Management : Ensure SAP systems are integrated securely with the organizations network and follow best practices for data protection and security. Work closely with network teams to ensure connectivity and optimized performance across SAP applications. Implement and monitor network security measures, ensuring SAP systems are compliant with internal policies and industry regulations. SAP Solution Manager Administration : Configure and maintain SAP Solution Manager for functions like system monitoring, root cause analysis, incident management, and change control. Leverage Solution Manager to automate system monitoring, set up alerts, and optimize infrastructure for high availability. Enable reporting and analysis features within Solution Manager to provide insights into system performance and support continuous improvement. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management : Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Basis, IT infrastructure, and network teams to align technical solutions with business needs. Work closely with business stakeholders to understand and support their requirements in the SAP environment. Act as a point of contact for infrastructure-related SAP issues, ensuring quick resolution and minimal business impact. Qualifications Experience : 5+ years of experience in SAP infrastructure management, including hardware, OS, and network management for SAP environments. Proven experience managing SAP upgrades, support packs, and system maintenance. Hands-on experience with SAP Solution Manager, including system monitoring and performance analysis. Technical Skills : Proficiency in SAP Basis, SAP HANA administration, and Solution Manager configuration. Solid understanding of hardware, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and networking protocols as they relate to SAP environments. Experience with virtualization and cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, is preferred. Project and Process Management : Experience in planning, managing, and executing SAP infrastructure upgrades and technical projects. Familiarity with IT service management and incident/change management processes, ideally ITIL-certified. Soft Skills : Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work across teams to ensure SAP system reliability. Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize effectively. Preferred Qualifications SAP Solution Manager certification. ITIL certification or experience with IT service management practices. Experience in cloud migration and managing SAP systems in a hybrid cloud environment.
