Position: Azure / Windows Engineer Duration: 6 Months Location: Remote Sr Windows Engineer Azure Architect - MS SQL (Secondary) Experience 6 to 9 years. Job description Azure & Server Technical Expertise (Design and Management): Deep understanding of Azure cloud platform, including IaaS (Compute, Networking, Storage, Security, Management), PaaS, and SaaS offerings. Proficiency in Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, and related technologies including DNS, DHCP HA, DFS, Windows Failover Cluster and WSUS. Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers (including updates, patches, and service packs) Manage Active Directory, including creating and managing accounts, permissions, and group policies. Designing and implementing Azure and Windows infrastructure solutions that align with business requirements and best practices. Familiarity with cloud migration strategies and tools. Azure & System Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor system performance using tools like Windows Event Viewer and Performance Monitor. Continuously monitor and optimize the performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of Azure cloud services with a focus on diversity and inclusion, ensuring that our solutions meet the needs of business. Monitor server health, performance, and availability, and take proactive measures to prevent issues. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to Azure and Windows environments. Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage VM, data backup solutions and disaster recovery plan using native solution and Azure backup solutions. BCP Solutions using Azure Site Recovery Conduct routine system backups and test restore procedures. Security Administration: Experience with Azure Update Manager, WSUS Experience on Cisco Duo Apply security patches and updates to Windows servers and applications. Implementing and maintaining robust security measures to protect Azure and Windows infrastructure. Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Documentation: Document system configurations, changes, and procedures. Maintain inventory records of hardware and software assets. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, utilizing clear and inclusive language, architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and standard operating procedures. Automation and Scripting: Use Power or other scripting tools to automate routine administrative tasks. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools (e.g., BiCep, ARM templates) Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with other IT team members to support cross-functional projects. Provide technical support and assistance to end users for Windows-related issues. MS SQL Secondary Seeking a highly skilled and experienced MS SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Microsoft SQL Server technologies and be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of database systems. Key Responsibilities: Database Administration: Install, configure, and maintain MS SQL Server databases. Perform database backups and recovery operations. Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues. Apply database patches and upgrades. Database Design and Development: Design and implement database solutions to meet business requirements. Develop and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures. Create and maintain database objects, such as tables, indexes, and views. Performance Tuning: Identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks. Optimize database queries and indexes. Monitor database resource utilization and adjust configuration settings as needed. Security: Implement and maintain database security best practices, including user access controls, encryption, and data masking. Stay up to date on security threats and vulnerabilities. High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as SQL Server Always On Availability Groups and Database Mirroring. Conduct regular DR drills and failover tests. Cloud Database Administration: Experience with cloud-based SQL Server deployments (e.g., Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS). Manage and maintain cloud-based database instances. Automation: Automate routine database tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Power, SQL Server Agent). Implement automation tools to improve efficiency. Required Skills and Experience: Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server technologies, including SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS). Experience with database performance tuning and optimization. Proficiency in T-SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Power). Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills and Experience: Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE: Data Platform) Experience with cloud-based database solutions. Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts. Secondary Skills and Experience: Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain comprehensive business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Create and update runbooks for various IT operations. Policy and Procedure Development: Develop, manage, and maintain operational policies and procedure documentation, including: Patching schedules Backup schedules Scheduled maintenance procedures Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with application teams to review and align application SOPs with infrastructure standards.
